Washing instructions
All garments contain a label with washing instructions. These instructions serve as a guideline on how the product should be maintained for optimal results. All symbols are in a fixed order on the label and provide the user with information on the topics of washing, bleaching, ironing, dry cleaning and drying.
Meaning of washing instructions
The washing instructions are symbolized by the image below. The number here indicates the maximum allowable washing temperature. Washing at a lower temperature is of course always allowed. If there is a line under the wash tub, this means that a special delicate wash program should be followed for this item of clothing. A hand in the wash tub indicates that an item may only be washed by hand. The maximum water temperature for this is 30 degrees. All items are best washed inside out and separately or with similar colors. This means the color stays beautiful longer, so you can enjoy your clothes for longer. Knitted items remain beautiful for the longest time if they are dried flat after washing. Never dry in the sun to ensure that the item retains its original color for as long as possible. A cross through the wash tub means that the item should not be washed.
Tip: turn the washing machine down a bit to 30 degrees to save energy!
Meaning bleaching
The symbol that represents bleaching using a chlorine bleach is the triangle. The text CL in the triangle means that the item may be bleached using chlorine bleach. If there is a cross through the triangle, this means that the use of chlorine bleach is not permitted.
Meaning of ironing
The symbol placed below is the ironing symbol, in which one or more dots can be seen. These correspond to the positions on the iron. If an item should not be ironed, there will be a cross through the iron. Before ironing, also look carefully at the additional instructions on the label. The best result is maintained by ironing the item on the inside.
Symbool 1: matig warm / max. 110 °C
Symbool 2: matig heet / max. 150 °C
Symbool 3: heet / max. 200 °C
Symbool 4: niet strijken
Meaning of dry cleaning
The image below shows the dry cleaning symbol. The P in the circle indicates that the item may be chemically cleaned. A cross through the circle, on the other hand, indicates that dry cleaning is not permitted. You can ignore all other letters and a line under the circle. This is only important for professional cleaners.
Meaning of drying
The symbol below indicates drying the clothes in the tumble dryer. The number of dots in the tumble dryer indicates the maximum temperature at which the item can be dried. One dot represents heat-sensitive textiles. It is important that the clothing is dried on the lowest setting. If there are two dots in the dryer, the clothes can be dried on the normal setting. A cross through the symbol below means that the use of a tumble dryer is not permitted. To keep the clothing beautiful for as long as possible, we recommend that you always let the clothing air dry and not use a dryer.
